TipAfter vs. DoorDash and Uber Eats
For restaurants. Pickup is the heart of TipAfter; delivery is an optional add-on with your own drivers.
TipAfter charges one flat rate: 8% of menu items, with card-processing fees included. Nothing on tax, delivery fees or tips, and 100% of tips go to your staff. Here is how that lines up with the commission rates DoorDash and Uber Eats publish for restaurants.*
| Order type | TipAfter | DoorDash | Uber Eats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pickup | 8% of menu items, card fees included | 6% on every plan (pickup menu prices must match in-store) | 7% with validated in-store pricing; 10% without |
| Delivery with your own drivers | 8% of menu items. Optional, coming for restaurants that choose it | Self-Delivery: 15% (12% on DashPass orders); $6.00 per delivery if a Dasher is used | Self-delivery: 15%; 25% when Uber's network delivers instead |
| Delivery by the app's gig drivers | Not offered. TipAfter does not use gig drivers | Basic 15% · Plus 25% · Premier 30% | Lite 20% (lower in some cities) · Plus 25% · Premium 30% |
| Tips | 0% taken. 100% to your staff (pickup) or your driver (delivery) | See each company's terms | |
The straight answer on pickup
On pickup alone, DoorDash's and Uber Eats' published pickup rates (6% and 7%) are lower than TipAfter's 8%. We would rather you hear that from us. Here is what the 8% gets you that a marketplace listing does not:
Fair tipping
Fair tipping, and 100% of every tip goes to your staff. TipAfter takes 0% of tips.
Your own ordering link
Every restaurant gets a link like tipafter.com/r/your-restaurant for your Google listing, website, receipts and table QR codes, so regulars order from you directly.
Card fees included
The 8% already covers card processing. No monthly fee, no setup fee, nothing on tax or delivery fees.
Delivery on your terms
If you turn on optional delivery, your own drivers do it at the same 8% of menu items, versus 15% for self-delivery on DoorDash or Uber Eats. You keep control of the food and the customer, and 100% of each delivery tip goes to your driver.
Example: a $40 order
| Fee on $40.00 of food | TipAfter | DoorDash | Uber Eats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pickup | $3.20 | $2.40 | $2.80 (validated pricing) · $4.00 (without) |
| Delivery, your own drivers | $3.20 | $6.00 ($4.80 on DashPass orders) | $6.00 |
| Delivery, the app's drivers | Not offered | $6.00 · $10.00 · $12.00 | $8.00 · $10.00 · $12.00 |
Math only: published percentage times $40.00. It leaves out tax, tips, delivery fees, intro offers, promotions and any optional add-ons.
