How TipAfter works
Pickup is the heart of TipAfter. Here is the plain-English walkthrough for diners and restaurants, plus how optional delivery would work.
For diners: pickup
Order ahead
Choose a restaurant on TipAfter and order for pickup.
Pay for the food
Pay at checkout with a card through Stripe. You see the full price before you pay: items and tax.
Pick it up
Pick up your order at the counter.
Tip fairly
Choose a tip, or no tip. It is charged to the card you used and 100% goes to the restaurant's staff.
After you place an order or a tip, an Undo button appears for 15 seconds. See Refunds, cancellations & disputes.
For restaurants
Sign up
Start at Sign up. You create a Stripe Express account; Stripe verifies your business and bank details.
Get approved
Tip After LLC reviews each restaurant before its page goes live.
Take pickup orders
Orders come into the TipAfter kitchen screen. Confirm each order at handoff.
Get paid
Your food sales, minus 8% of menu items, are paid out to your bank by Stripe. Tips go 100% to your staff tip pool.
The full restaurant guide is at For restaurants. To see how the 8% lines up with DoorDash and Uber Eats, see Compare.
Demo offer: restaurants that demo TipAfter get a guaranteed lifetime rate of 8% of menu items. Offer terms are still being finalized.
Optional delivery, with your own drivers
Delivery is an add-on, coming for restaurants that choose it. It is meant for restaurants that use their own drivers rather than gig drivers, so the restaurant keeps control of the food, the customer and the handoff. The driver confirms each delivery and receives 100% of any tip for that delivery. The 8% applies to menu items only, never to delivery fees or tips. Delivery with real payments is not live yet. See the draft Driver Terms.
