Refunds, cancellations & disputes
Tip After LLC. Last updated October 18, 2026. This page is part of the TipAfter Agreement (see Terms of Service, Section 12).
Cancel right away (Undo)
After you place an order, an Undo button appears for 15 seconds. Undoing cancels the order and refunds the full amount you paid, including the matching 8% TipAfter platform fee. Tips have the same 15-second Undo: undoing a tip refunds it and lets you choose again while the 24-hour tipping window is still open.
Problems with an order
If an item is missing or wrong, or the order never arrived, contact us at hello@tipafter.com or 540-505-6071 with your order number, please within 30 days of the order. We will look into it with the restaurant. Whether a full or partial refund is given depends on the facts and the restaurant’s policy. Approved refunds go back to the original card; banks usually post them in 5 to 10 business days.
Who charged my card?
Tip After LLC is the merchant of record. Food orders appear on your card statement as TIPAFTER followed by a short form of the restaurant’s name (for example, TIPAFTER* SUNNY SIDE). Tips appear as TIPAFTER* TIP.
Tips
Tips are optional and chosen after you receive your order. After the 15-second Undo window, a tip has gone to the staff or driver and is final, except in two cases: (i) where the law requires otherwise, or (ii) when a restaurant refunds the full order, in which case the matching tip is also refunded to the customer. A restaurant cannot refund a tip on its own without refunding the full order. Tips belong to eligible staff and drivers and may not be diverted by restaurant owners, managers, or supervisors. See Terms of Service, Section 17.
Fees on refunds
Undo within 15 seconds. The full matching 8% TipAfter platform fee is refunded. Neither the customer nor the restaurant is charged any processing fee on an undone order.
Restaurant refunds a full order. The refunded food amount and the matching tax come back out of the restaurant’s Stripe balance. The matching tip is also refunded to the customer (see above). Stripe does not return its card processing fee on a refund; the restaurant covers that fee on the refunded part. TipAfter returns the matching part of its 8% platform fee minus that card processing fee. If the card fee is larger than TipAfter’s share, the difference is taken from the restaurant’s Stripe balance. Either way, the customer gets back the full refunded amount plus the tip.
Restaurant refunds a partial order. The refunded food amount and the matching tax come back out of the restaurant’s Stripe balance. A partial refund does not affect the tip. Stripe’s card processing fee on the refunded part works the same way as a full refund (the restaurant covers it; TipAfter returns its platform fee share minus that card fee). The customer gets back the partial refunded amount.
Summary. In every case, the customer receives a full refund of whatever was approved. The card processing fee that Stripe keeps on refunds is absorbed between TipAfter and the restaurant, never by the customer. Each refund screen and the restaurant’s monthly report show the exact amounts. See Terms of Service, Section 21.5.
Disputes and chargebacks
Please contact us first; most problems are solved faster that way. If you file a dispute with your card issuer, Tip After LLC responds through Stripe using order records (such as the confirmation of pickup or delivery) and works with the restaurant to resolve it.
Restaurants: cancelling service
Restaurants can stop using TipAfter at any time by emailing us. There is no cancellation fee. Amounts already owed for completed orders are still paid out through Stripe. See Terms of Service, Section 26.
